Black cumin is a flowering plant native to the eastern Mediterranean, North Africa, and Western Asia. The oil is obtained by cold-pressing the small black seeds. This method preserves the valuable ingredients.
Numerous studies are investigating the ingredient thymoquinone in particular as a promising active ingredient. However, the scientific evidence is not yet fully established. Further studies are needed to confirm health benefits.
