What are hydrosols and what do I use them for?

Hydrosols are natural and aromatic plant waters that contain the valuable water-soluble ingredients of the respective plant. Unlike essential oils, hydrosols are very mild and can be applied directly to the skin without needing to be diluted. They contain a small proportion of essential oils, but also water-soluble ingredients such as flavonoids, minerals and vitamins. Hydrosols are used in a variety of ways in aromatherapy, cosmetics and natural medicine. Here are some uses of hydrosols:

Skin care: Hydrosols can be used as a refreshing facial toner. They moisturize, soothe the skin and can help with skin problems such as acne or skin irritation.
