Obtaining Hydrosols
Hydrolates are obtained through steam distillation. The steam penetrates the plant parts. The steam is enriched with a small amount of the essential oil contained in the plant. The liquid is collected as a hydrosol through condensation.
Properties of Rosemary Water
Hydrolates are produced during the extraction of essential oils by cooling the distillation steam. The scent of rosemary water is significantly milder than that of a concentrated essential oil.
