The evergreen mandarin tree produces smaller citrus fruits than the orange. The difference between red tangerines compared to yellow and green is that they are harvested at different stages of ripeness.  Since they come from the same species, the composition is very similar and therefore their properties. However, the smell of the red mandarin is fruitier and sweeter than the green (fresh and vitalizing) and the yellow (sweet and floral). The harvest time is from October to January. For one liter of red mandarin essential oil, the peels of approximately 3,000 ripe mandarins are required. Tangerine oil is used in perfumery and cosmetics and to flavor foods. The mandarin tree, originally from China, is a symbol of good luck in its homeland. For New Year's celebrations, houses are decorated with fruit-bearing tangerine trees. Along with lavender oil, tangerine oil is one of the most popular oils for children. It conveys security and is therefore often used for fears, nervousness, stress and tension. When you are mentally stressed, it gives you joy of life and confidence, it relaxes and uplifts, it harmonizes and delights the heart. Our tip: Try a digestive stimulating abdominal massage with tangerine oil. To do this, add 5 drops of red mandarin essential oil to 50 ml of a carrier oil (e.g. almond oil or coconut oil) and massage your stomach gently in a clockwise circular motion.
