Grapefruit oil can be wonderfully combined with other essential oils such as lemon, orange or cedar – for individually tailored fragrance compositions in aroma care.
The grapefruit is a subtropical fruit with bitter flesh, derived from a cross between the pomelo (Citrus maximus) and the orange (Citrus sinensis). This evergreen citrus tree can grow to more than 10 meters tall. The aromatic peels of the fruit contain the popular essential oil with its typical fruity, fresh scent. Grapefruit oil is obtained by gently cold-pressing the peels of the citrus fruit. 200 to 300 kilograms of fruit peels are needed for one liter of the essential oil. Casida grapefruit oil comes from the USA and is characterized by its high quality and its typical fruity, tangy citrus scent.
