Cajeput oil is a popular choice for room fragrance, especially during the cold season – particularly due to its gentle, herbal-fresh scent with notes reminiscent of eucalyptus and citrus. The mild character of the oil makes it ideal for use in fragrance lamps or aroma diffusers and is also popular with people with sensitive olfactory sensitivities. Cajeput oil can also be used as a fragrance component in massage oils, and its fresh note complements a wide variety of aroma blends.
Cajeput essential oil is extracted from the leaves of the cajeput tree using a particularly gentle steam distillation process. The cajeput tree is native to Southeast Asia and Australia and can grow to 30 to 40 meters tall. Like eucalyptus and tea tree, it belongs to the myrtle family. The fluffy, white blossoms exude a clear scent reminiscent of eucalyptus. The name Cajeput is derived from Kayuputi, which means "white wood" in Indonesia. Casida's Cajeput oil comes from Indonesia and impresses with its characteristic freshness and purity.
