Protection from mosquitoes
Mosquito bites are unpleasant, and the natural desire is to avoid them in advance. Various oils can help you get rid of mosquitoes on warm summer evenings. These include: rosemary oil, eucalyptus oil, peppermint oil, patchouli oil, and cedar oil – but why? The reason is the scents of the oils, as they repel mosquitoes. Oils like peppermint, eucalyptus, and rosemary have very strong smells. Patchouli and cedar oil, on the other hand, additionally confuse mosquitoes with their scents.
The application of the oils is simple and quick – for example, with the help of aroma lamps and Diffusers . It should be noted that just a few drops of the oils mentioned above diluted with water help. However, you can also make your own DIY anti-mosquito skin cream. You only need two ingredients: pure essential oil and a base oil. The helpful essential oils are mentioned above. Suitable base oils include, among others, olive oil, jojoba oil, Almond oil and coconut oil.

Help after a mosquito bite
If the mosquito has nevertheless caught you – here is the help for afterwards! Essential oils not only help to repel mosquitoes, some oils alleviate pain and itching, promote healing, and have anti-inflammatory effects. The following oils can help you:
Lavender oil alleviates discomfort and promotes healing. Peppermint oil, on the other hand, is perfect for cooling the bite and relieving the annoying itch. Tea tree oil is an all-rounder among essential oils, as it also helps with mosquito bites. It alleviates pain, reduces itching, has healing and anti-inflammatory effects. Another positive property is the scent of tea tree oil, as it also repels mosquitoes.
Application for children: When applying to children, it should be noted that gentler oils should be used. These include lavender oil and patchouli oil, as they react gently on the skin.
Attention: When dosing, be careful not to act on the motto: "more helps more." Just a few drops of pure essential oils help to repel mosquitoes or treat mosquito bites. The effectiveness of pure essential oils is limited, so repeated application is necessary to achieve the best possible effect.
