The Vogtland gets its own mega event - the Vogtland Walk. With the support of Casida, of course! On 04.05.2024 the time has come. The Thuringian and Saxon Vogtland will have its own mega walk. A good 24 km and 550 meters in altitude have to be overcome. The sporting event is aimed at everyone. It is aimed at all walkers as well as groups, clubs and even companies who want to master this one-day challenge together. The starting signal is given in Greiz Castle Gardens - the day's destination: the Pöhl Dam.

1. what is special about the Vogtland Walk?
"I think the most important thing is that you can leave your heavy rucksack at home, let your mind wander and simply enjoy a great adventure and panoramic route," says Lukas Lenk, who organizes the event. You don't need to worry about food and liquids either. On average, there is a refreshment point every 7 km where you can eat something and exchange water for the route. Sanitary facilities are also available. Emergencies are also taken care of, as there will always be paramedics on call nearby. After successfully completing the route, you can celebrate and linger for a while at the Pöhl Dam before taking a shuttle bus back to the starting point.
2. is the event a kind of competition and is there anything to be won?
No, of course it's not a competition, but rather a challenge to yourself. To challenge yourself and perhaps to master this task as a team. Of course, everyone who crosses the finish line is a winner, which is why everyone can win a medal from the District Administrator of Vogtland, who is also the patron of the event. "On the one hand, "hiking" has become increasingly popular since Corona and on the other hand, I often have the feeling that people always travel far away to experience something (e.g. Thuringian Forest, Saxon Switzerland, Harz Mountains, ...).
