    1. what is the difference between turmeric and curcumin?

Turmeric, which is native to India and South East Asia, is often used to make curry powder. However, it has also been used in naturopathy in many countries for several thousand years to treat various diseases. The main ingredient curcumin plays a decisive role here - it is the most important ingredient of the turmeric plant.

2 What are the areas of application of curcumin?

In traditional Chinese and Ayurvedic medicine, natural curcumin has been used as a remedy for thousands of years. It is also used as a spice, but also as a coloring agent in food production for products such as margarine, mashed potatoes, sausage, curry powder, mustard, etc. In the meantime, some studies have also indicated that curcumin has anti-inflammatory and antioxidant properties and can be used, for example, for digestive disorders, Alzheimer's disease, high blood pressure or even cancer and other diseases. For better bioavailability, the intake of curcumin in the form of turmeric capsules such as those from Casida is recommended.

3 How do I choose the right turmeric capsules?

When selecting food supplements, care should be taken to ensure that the ingredients are as pure as possible. This means that the turmeric capsules should not contain any colorants or other similar substances. In addition, bioavailability, yield and of course the price-performance ratio should be right. All these criteria are met by Casida's turmeric capsules. They are suitable for daily use and have proven to be extremely practical in hectic everyday life.

    4 How is curcumin taken?

When used and dosed correctly, curcumin can help with a wide range of complaints. However, side effects cannot be completely ruled out due to its comprehensive active complex. Turmeric is available as a spice or dietary supplement in the form of powder, extract or capsules such as those from Casida. The monograph of the European Scientific Cooperative on Phytotherapy (ESCOP) and the World Health Organization (WHO) recommend a daily dose of up to 3 grams of turmeric powder with an unlimited duration of use. In most cases, however, only 1 to 3 g of curcumin daily in capsule form is required to achieve positive results. Even though most people know turmeric as a spice used in exotic cuisine, it is more practical to take it in capsule form. This not only makes dosing easier, but also prevents overdoses.
