Various measures are being ordered to curb the further spread of the currently rampant Corona virus and to keep it under control. Mouth and nose coverage and frequent washing and disinfection of hands are now just as much a part of everyday life as keeping distance rules. A recent study now shows the benefits of antiviral mouthwashes. Regular mouthwashes can help keep bacteria and even corona viruses away. You can find out what needs to be considered in this article.
What can you do for your health and that of those around you?
First and foremost, of course, is strengthening your immune system . A healthy diet, exercise in the fresh air, enough time for rest and relaxation, healthy sleep hygiene and an optimal supply of nutrients, vitamins and minerals are of fundamental importance. Adhering to the distance rules and wearing a social mask has become a matter of course for most people. Protection against infection is also improved by preventing the excessive accumulation of aerosols in the room air. That’s why you should ventilate all rooms regularly everyday – whether in the workplace or at home, at events or in classrooms.
Mouthwash against Corona
A recent study suggests the benefits of antiviral mouthwashes . In vitro, the effective protection of alcohol-containing mouthwashes in combination with antiseptic ingredients has been proven. Eight mouthwashes* were tested. Three of them were able to significantly reduce the activity and infectivity of the corona viruses. That sounds interesting, but there is still an unpleasant aftertaste: the mouthwashes tested contained preservatives, emulsifiers and colorings. In addition, the use of mouthwashes more than three times a day is controversial in terms of the risk of cancer**.
